About GW-Webs

Gary Walthrop, owner of GW-Webs, has designed, developed and implemented business computer systems for over 30 years. He has worked with many types of businesses including retail, wholesale, manufacturing, banking and insurance to name a few. Gary has always enjoyed learning the ins and outs of businesses; creating computer solutions, and packaging them for large, diverse groups of users.

While most of Gary’s career has centered around main-frame and midrange platforms, the transition to pc- and server-based web solutions has been a natural process. Having followed and participated in a number of web- and client-based interface projects for larger companies, he developed a strong foundational knowledge in that area. He published his first web site in 2004 for his wife’s small business and enjoyed it so much he has been doing it ever since, further enhancing his skills working in Flash, XTML, CSS, Java and other current web design technologies.

Gary is the lead developer for GW-Webs, and we have sub-contract relationships with a number of talented developers over the years that are available when needed to provide their particular talents to any project as needed.

Joy Reid joined GW-Webs in 2008 as graphic designer, copywriter and editor. Joy brings with her over 30 years of experience in graphic design, advertising and marketing. She was at the forefront of the digital design revolution back in the 1980s, and her experience, creativity and design skills will give your web site the professional polish it needs to stand out among the crowd. In addition to an impressive design background, she is a skilled illustrator and is able to combine her illustration skills with expertise in design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to produce original images that are ingenious and unique. Joy employs a “form follows function” ethic to her design to ensure that the finished work is user-friendly as well as eye-catching and inviting.
